When you’ve just received an extremely unexpected diagnosis that is crushing…

The answer: Praise

When the trials you are enduring are straight up debilitating…

The answer: Praise

When you’re overwhelmed by the burdens of everyday living…

The answer: Praise

Praise turns the tallest mountains into plains.

It’s mind-blowing how profoundly my perspective changes when I choose to praise God and declare His goodness, even in the midst of what seems far from good.

I lose nothing, and I gain everything.

I used to be quick to look at my circumstance and from my observations come to the conclusion that God must not be good… or determine that yes He might be good to others but He’s definitely not good to me.

Do you know where that left me? In the pit, depressed, ungrateful, and far from content.

To bless the Lord is to declare His goodness. It is to thank Him for what He has done and what we know He will do. It is to look at life with the right perspective. Not with an earthly one which is temporal but a heavenly perspective which is eternal. A perspective in which you can see your circumstance clearly in light of eternity.

“For it is not to be doubted that the duration of this life is but a moment; that the state of death is eternal … [and] that it is impossible to take one step with sense and judgment, unless we regulate our course by the truth of that point which ought to be our ultimate end.”

In a world of noise, writing is the catalyst that drives my focus back to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and reminds me of the hope I have in Him— nothing has changed, yet everything has changed.
