MY PORTION

The rest of the garden simply is enough!

What if I walked around knowing deep down, with the greatest assurance that I truly am met. Met by perfect love.

Then I wouldn’t ask others to meet me. To do what only God can do.

“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My relationships would be healthy because I am not asking anyone other than God to be what only He can be for me.

This frees me, it frees others.

It’s often said that if there is a problem in your relationships horizontally. There is a problem vertically— something is not right between you and God.

I have to be honest, my vertical relationship has been a little off, to the point where all day long I believed a lie about God, and didn’t even recognize it for the lie it was.

The lie that started in the garden and will always be a way that the enemy tries to bring me down. A way He attempts to make me think I have no power and I need to take control of my life and get what I want. If I’m honest what I in my own head— need.

This is the lie…

God is holding out on me.

This is the truth…

In choosing Him… I lose nothing. I gain everything!

He is my portion.

All of a sudden your troubles loom larger. Your inability and weakness gets greater. And all of a sudden your troubles are starting to define you. Your troubles are beginning to identify you. Listen your trouble may be a difficult experience. It is not your identity. And watch what happens… As you meditate on your troubles, they grow larger and larger and larger. And the presence of God gets smaller and smaller, and more distant. No wonder you panic, no wonder you fear.
David says, I can’t let my mind do that. I can’t let my mind go there. I’m gonna run into Gods temple. I’m going to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.
It’s only when you see the trouble of life through the lens of the stunning beauty of the Lord that you see life and yourself with clarity and accuracy.

(Paul Tripp— Painting Reality)

Ask the Lord for Kingdom eyes. And if you still can’t see the big picture, ask Him for a renewed knowledge of who He is in the midst of what you are going through. Ask Him to reveal to you that you are in fact— met.

He never holds back His completing love.

You don’t need to run to another and ask them to meet you.

You do not lack anything in Jesus Christ.

These are not just fancy words…

This is the truth… Your cup truly does spill over!

You have everything you need in Christ Jesus.

Ask Him for a renewed mind on what you really need to seek today and everyday.

Here’s a little hint… it’s Him!

My prayer is that this wouldn’t just be head knowledge, but heart knowledge.

God is good. He only has the best. If we are not believing this. It is never not true… it’s that we aren’t believing the truth about who God is. We need to come back into alignment with Him and His word.

Ask Him to protect you from the lies of the enemy that tell you that if only you just got to eat even a bite of that apple you would finally be satisfied.

Ask Him to help you see that lie for what it is— a lie.

That apple will only poison you. And not just you, the rest of the garden too.

The deception of the apple and what it will give you is the real thing that holds you back from the full life He has for you.

It’s okay. Take a deep breath sweetheart, surrender to His infinite wisdom, His perfect love, His sovereign reign… let go.

The rest of the garden simply is enough.

Live with this mindset today, and your circumstance may not change, but you will be changed. ❤️

In a world of noise, writing is the catalyst that drives my focus back to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and reminds me of the hope I have in Him— nothing has changed, yet everything has changed.
