I want to be that girl…

I want to be that girl that is undeniably easy to be around.

That girl that draws you in because of the abundance of life, Christ’s life overflowing out of her.

That girl that is so easy to love because she does not look to others to meet her. She is confident that she has forever been met by the most Perfect Love.

Why am I not always able to be that girl?

Why am I not always a refreshment to be around?

Why do I over and over again tend to expect far too much from others?

Why am I at times a burden rather than a light?

Because far too often I live with amnesia

I forget that in Christ I lack nothing.

I forget the life abundant and free that Christ has given me. I forget that in Him is all I need.

I forget…

And so I go on wanting…

When we feel as if there is a lack in our life. It’s often our perspective, our mindset that needs to change. Not our circumstance.

We need to believe and receive the truth that nothing in this world can meet us like He can.

Whatever it is you feel you are lacking. That’s a deception from the enemy himself. That feeling of being in want is actually a longing for more of Christ. What you do need is full communion with the One your heart was made to worship for eternity. Only He can meet your deepest need.

If you have Christ you have more than enough.

When I live with this mindset, my eyes forever fixed on Christ and His fullness. I then can be that girl who is easy to love.

That girl who is forever content and at rest, fearing and putting her trust only in the Lord.

That girl whose heart beats for her Maker alone– the Love of her life forever. The One who gives of Himself fully and never stops. The One who knows her inside and out and loves her perfectly. The One who provides exactly what she needs at the exact time she needs it. And she trusts Him to do just that.

I choose to be that girl.

In a world of noise, writing is the catalyst that drives my focus back to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and reminds me of the hope I have in Him— nothing has changed, yet everything has changed.
