“Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
Psalms 37:4-5 NKJV
As I seek the Lord I see my desires literally shifting and new desires unfolding right before my eyes.
Many of the desires I have are still there but the heart behind the desire is much, much different.
It’s no longer all about my little kingdom, all about me. It’s finally about You and Your Kingdom. All for You. For Your fame!
I write… not for my own glory, or pleasure, but now I write for others!
I seek You… no longer on behalf of myself alone (what can I get out of it for me), but now I seek You on behalf of another!
I intercede in prayer… not just over my own life anymore but to see another, for the beautiful soul of someone I know or have yet to know.
A spouse… no longer to come and be my knight in shining armor, and sweep me off my feet, to steal me away into the night, and save me (like all the fairytales have told me over the years which actually I’ve come to know that Knight in shining armor points directly to You. You are my happily ever after!) But now because my heart is to seek first Your Kingdom with another.
Children, no longer to bring fulfillment to my life, to make all my dreams come true, but now because I simply can’t wait to reach out to children of my very own, share wisdom, pour love and grant them the gift of knowing You!
A family, not for my own gain, but now for Yours alone.
Lord You are faithful. I’m proud of You! I never dreamt You would be able to get me to this place where I would finally be able to say confidently and with great expectation and anticipation, “Thy will be done! Thy Kingdom come!”
It’s been so much fun to let You lead. Literally Your provisions dropping into my lap left, right, and center! I could never in a million years have led myself so well. You’re so good at loving me! Thank You.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
