imageMy brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

‭‭James‬ ‭1:2-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My desire…

That we would all encompass a much different lens on life, than the lens we so often choose right now.

To have an optimistic lens.

To see everything as an opportunity!

Going through trials as a PRIVILEGE.

An area where…

We get to trust Him.

We get to abide in Him.

We get to rest in Him.

We get to allow Him to work.

And finish the work that He wills to do.

Rather than grumbling and becoming bitter in our hearts because we play the poor me card, and throw our little pity party saying seriously God, WHY ME??? We could approach it with joy, with thankfulness, knowing that He is faithful, and He will finish what He has started.

To see it as an opportune moment to practice living Christ’s life out!

The life that already resides inside of you and me.

The life that is yearning to live.

To practice Christ like forgiveness, love, patience, faithfulness. The list goes on!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

He is not against us. WE ARE NOT A VICTIM HERE. He allows these things in order to do His perfect work in us. He allows these things for our good.

So we have to cling to Him. To rely on Him.

To be desperate for His life to come alive in us.

This will happen as we abide in Him. As we allow Him to live, to reign in our lives!

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
‭‭John‬ ‭15:1-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So today as I struggle with body image, and want to say why God, WHY ME??? Why do I still have to be going through this? I CHOOSE to detach myself from that kind of thinking. Instead of having a poor pity me response to what life throws my way. I make the conscious choice to say God, thank you. Thank you for the work You are about to do. Thank You for the work You have already done. Thank You for continually showing me that my worth is in You, not in my appearance. Thank you for reminding me that no one can steal my joy, not even the enemy himself because my joy is found in Christ. Not my circumstance. Thank You for showing me that you are with me through this. Thank you for this opportunity to practice relying on your strength. Thank You that I can be weak in this. Thank You that you are moving, you are working. You are perfecting Your fruit in me. Thank You that You are not finished with me, and that You are getting a patience in me that I’ve never fully been able to have. Thank You for your grace that convicts, and shines a bright light over my sin. Thank you for revealing to me just where I have fallen short. So I can see it. So I can choose to no longer walk in it. But can choose Your will for me. Your life! Thank you for Your fruit that you are causing to blossom in me because of this exact circumstance I am going through right now.

In a world of noise, writing is the catalyst that drives my focus back to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and reminds me of the hope I have in Him— nothing has changed, yet everything has changed.
