Father You are good. May You be the reason I sing, I dance, I have my being. For Your glory… May it all be for His glory!
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
I Corinthians 10:31 NKJV
That’s when we are really living! We were made to worship Him. We, doing exactly what we were created to do. Our purpose is being lived out, and we are FULL!
Such is the grasping tendency of the human heart, that it must have a something to lay hold of—and which, if wrested away without the substitution of another something in its place, would leave a void and a vacancy as painful to the mind, as hunger is to the natural system…. The heart must have something to cling to…
– Thomas Chalmers
If I’m obesessed over my body or over food. He’s not glorified. I’m glorified.
I’m on the throne. And from reading Ecclesiastes we know just what the result is when we are on the throne… A meaningless, empty life, void. Full of pointless successes. We all will die someday.
“Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure, For my heart rejoiced in all my labor; And this was my reward from all my labor. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 NKJV
But when He’s on the throne… There is purpose, life, REASON! There is a point to our life again, glorifying Him. Seeking first His Kingdom (Matt 6:33). When we die, He remains. His kingdom remains. It’s kingdom work!
We are complete again, content. We find we can finally LIVE, and enjoy this life He’s given!
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NKJV
Father, I’m not the whole wide world. You are the whole wide world. You get the glory, through my body, through my life, through everything I do and say. What my heart desires more than ever is to glorify You!
The minute that bringing You glory is not my motivation I pray I would stop dead in my tracks and invite You in. That You would become the center of my existence again.
My life lived all for You…
for Your glory.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV
“Shine, Jesus shine,
Fill this land with the Father’s glory.
Blaze, Spirit blaze,
Set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river flow,
Flood the nations with grace and mercy.
Send forth Your word,
Lord and let there be light.”
